thinkLA Privacy Policy

We like you. That’s why thinkLA is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. We want to provide a safe, secure user experience. We will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private, and is used only for the purposes as set forth herein.

This policy may change without prior notice.

For each visitor to our Web site, our server recognizes only the consumer's domain name. We review the domain name for internal review and it is thereafter discarded.

Some web pages created by thinkLA use 'cookies', which are small text files that may be placed on your hard disk for record-keeping purposes. It is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. A cookie's purpose is to tell the server that you returned to that Web page. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. Furthermore, a cookie in no way gives us access to your computer. The use of cookies is an industry standard.

Many major Web sites use cookies to provide useful features for their customers. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies. However, you will not be able to take full advantage of a Web site if you do so.

Our Web site has links to many other Web sites. While we encourage high standards of privacy among our members, we cannot be responsible for the content of those sites or the privacy practices of other organizations.

If you request information, a product, or have a complaint and we are unable to respond, your request/complaint may be forwarded to a third party whom we believe can adequately respond. Your request/complaint would be forwarded along with any e-mail, postal, or telephone information you have provided us. thinkLA is not responsible for the privacy policy of the third party to whom we forward your request/complaint. We will not forward your request if you ask that we not do so.

We make every reasonable effort to insure that all information in our database remains accurate and complete and that all information is protected from unauthorized access and use. The thinkLA management office is directed to forward all concerns to the thinkLA staff who is responsible for our Web site.

thinkLA Event & Newsletter Registration:

If you register for a thinkLA event, conference or product online/offline, or e-mail or otherwise contact us with a request or comment, we may use any information provided (including your e-mail, postal, or telephone information) to update already existing databases.

Registration for events or other information provided may be retained in our databases and used as described below.

v  Information provided will be added to our contact database to be used for current events announcements, membership drives or general thinkLA news and updates. You may request that your information not be retained or utilized by thinkLA however please note if you choose to “opt out” of our database you will not receive any correspondence about thinkLA via email or mail, including confirmation email for events.

 

v  Registration information also becomes part of an "attendee list" which may be provided to our sponsors for various events. General “attendee lists” provided to sponsors include the attendee’s Name and Company. For various events the attendee’s Email Address will also be provided. You may request that your information not be retained or utilized by thinkLA by notifying us at info@thinkLA.org.


thinkLA compiles lists from our database for communications and marketing purposes.
Under no circumstances will thinkLA furnish or distribute personally identifying information to outside organizations, entities or companies without a user's consent.

thinkLA Membership Directory:

thinkLA active member* contact information will be published on the “thinkLA Online Membership Directory” available at www.thinkLA.org.

*Active members will have access to the “thinkLA Online Membership Directory” by using a username and password which is either created by the member at the time of membership registration or provided by thinkLA management office once a membership application is processed. Members may choose to request that their information not be published on the “thinkLA Online Membership Directory” by notifying us at info@thinkLA.org.

*An active member is defined as a member who has paid full membership (individual or corporate) dues and their application has been processed by the thinkLA management office.
