thinkLA works closely with several charitable organizations.
We encourage our members and friends to support these organizations by volunteering, attending their events and/or making charitable donations.
Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles
Ad Relief of Greater Los Angeles is a volunteer organization made up of advertising and promotions people brought together to help their colleagues in times of life crisis. If you or an industry peer has an accident or experiences some form of life crisis, is unable to work and can't afford outstanding bills—and have exhausted all personal assets—Ad Relief is there.
Their reason to exist is to lend a hand and help people get back on their feet again.
Light Bringer Project
Since 2000, Light Bringer Project has partnered with major advertising and marketing firms, including TBWA\Chiat\Day, DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, Rubin Postaer & Associates (RPA), GreyWorldwide, Muse Advertising, and the Phelps Group to deliver a skill-building, mentorship program for senior high school public youth.
MAT Program
The MAT (Multicultural Advertising Training) Program's goal is to increase diversity at the highest levels of the advertising and marketing industry by developing internships for multicultural students.
Taproot Foundation
Taproot is a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society. We encourage our members and friends to get involved by allowing the Taproot Foundation to match a small portion of your time and talents to a local nonprofit in need of your expertise.
Toys for Tots
In 1947, the "Toys for Tots" idea was conceived in Los Angeles by Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR. That same year, The Advertising Club of Los Angeles, now known as thinkLA, was among the first organizations to adopt the charity on a large scale.
