MAT Program

BACK TO PHILANTHROPY »

The MAT (Multicultural Advertising Training) Program's goal is to increase diversity at the highest levels of the advertising and marketing industry by developing internships for multicultural students.

MAT Program opens doors and provides opportunities for multicultural talented college students that may not be available to them otherwise. They do this so that their interns may experience, develop within and, at the end of the day, diversify the advertising industry. By placing interns with industry experts, the MAT Program gives future leaders a unique education through relationship-building and industry-specific knowledge to help them build a career. The high standards held by the program ensure a more direct correlation between a MAT intern and real agency innovation. The world is a diverse place. Our agencies should reflect that.

Since its inception by Jay Chiat (of TBWA/Chiat/Day) in 1992, the MAT Program has placed over 500 multicultural interns and helped launch many advertising careers. The alumni that have gone through program and built their careers have helped to take the first step in truly diversifying the advertising industry.

All contributions to the MAT Program are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
