M.A.T. Program
thinkLA works closely with the Multicultural Advertising Training (M.A.T.) Program, hosting joint events annually.
The M.A.T. Program's goal is to encourage outstanding multicultural college students to enter the field of advertising by providing them with internships in agencies, print, and the broadcast media. With this goal, we hope to increase diversity in the advertising community by providing the industry with outstanding and promotable interns.
The M.A.T. program offers paid internships three times a year (Spring, Summer, and Fall), at many of Southern California's top advertising and broadcasting companies. Established by Jay Chiat (of TBWA/Chiat/Day) in 1992, its goal is to increase diversity in the Los Angeles Advertising community. M.A.T. has placed over 380 interns to date. Helping to launch many advertising careers, M.A.T. provides interns with their first professional training and experience. As a result, many of our interns have been offered full-time positions by their companies of internship.
