FAQ's

1) What is included?

This year, SnowJam has two different registration options to accommodate your needs: "all-inclusive" and "saturday lunch & dinner only".

"All-inclusive" registration includes:

• round trip group transportation from Los Angeles to Mammoth Mountain
• group lodging in shared condos (condos sleep 6-8)
• dinner and snacks on Friday night on the bus
• lunch and dinner on Saturday
• breakfast on Sunday
• one (1) drink ticket for Saturday lunch
• one (1) drink ticket for Saturday dinner
• one (1) drink ticket for Sunday breakfast

"Saturday Lunch & Dinner Only" registration includes:

• lunch and dinner on Saturday
• one (1) drink ticket for Saturday lunch
• one (1) drink ticket for Saturday dinner

Saturday Lunch & Dinner Only registrations do NOT include transportation or lodging.

2) What is NOT included?

Regardless of registration type, the following items are not included:

• lift tickets
• rental gear
• extra activities (snow mobiling, tube park, etc.)
• breakfast on Saturday
• lunch and dinner on Sunday
• personal insurance (attendees are required to sign a waiver of liability that limits thinkLA's legal responsibility in the rare event of an injury)

3) Do I have to sign the liability waiver?

Yes. Skiing and snowboarding are inherently dangerous sports. thinkLA is acting only as a facilitator of the event and cannot be held responsible for your decision to participate. By singing the waiver, you legally assume all risk of injury and damage to yourself as well as to any third person(s) arising from your participation in the event. It also releases thinkLA from any and all claims regarding this event.

4) Where does group lodging stay?

thinkLA rents a number of condos from Summit Condos. These are personal residences that are rented out like a hotel. Summit Condos are located walking distance to Chair 15 and Eagle Lodge. Each condo sleeps between 6-8 people. Condo buyouts cannot be guaranteed. E.g. Purchasing 8 tickets does not guarantee you will all be in the same condo.

Condo rooming is typically configured as two bedrooms, plus loft, containing a king or queen bed in each room, and 2-4 single twin beds in the loft. There are two shared bathrooms in each condo. In order to keep prices low, queen and king beds are assigned two attendees and twin beds are assigned one.

5) What amenities are provided in the condo

Condos have full kitchens with cookware, flatware and drinking glasses. Food is not included and room service is unavailable - there is no restaurant on-site.

Bedrooms are stocked with linen and bedding.

Bathrooms are stocked with the basics: towels and soap. If you have allergies or sensitivity to certain types of soap, please bring your own. It is advised to bring your own travel-size shampoo/conditioner as not all condos provide them.

6) Can I choose who I stay with in group lodging?

We will try to accommodate all rooming requests, but they cannot be guaranteed. Please send rooming requests to meghna@thinkLA.org. Changes will not be made after the final assignment list is distributed to attendees.

7) Can I choose which bed I get with group lodging?

Unfortunately, with group lodging we are only able to assign attendees to condos, not specific beds. We ask that each condo work out their own sleeping arrangements. Please be courteous to your condo mates!

8) Can I upgrade the group lodging to a single supplement or private condo?

YES, thinkLA has a limited number of one- and two-bedroom condos on hold at Juniper Springs for additional cost. One-bedrooms are furnished with one king or queen bed and two-bedrooms are furnished with a king or queen bed in each room. These condos are also privately owned and rented like a hotel. They are located directly adjacent to Summit Condos and are walking distance to Chair 15 and Eagle Lodge.

9) Is there are early return bus on Sunday?

If you are taking group transportation, the return busses to Los Angeles depart at 3:00 PM on Sunday. Please note this is also the day clocks are set forward one hour for daylight savings. Due to the large number of attendees, we are unable to coordinate separate early return busses. If you would like to leave earlier than 3:00 PM on Sunday, you are welcome to make alternate transportation arrangements.

Cancellation & Return Check Policy

Special Cancellation Policy:

SnowJam is a multi-day event inclusive of lodging, meals and transportaton. As such, thinkLA must coordinate with several vendors and provide guarantees 14 days in advance of the trip. The last day to cancel and receive a full refund for this event is Friday, February 17th at 5:00 PM PST. Please contact Victoria at the thinkLA office at victoria@thinkLA.org to cancel or for any registration questions. A $15 Return Check Fee will be assessed on any dishonored checks.
