Program Overview
As industry employees develop their talent, they're promoted. Eventually, they become managers responsible for the recruitment, performance, and development of others. But many companies do not have the resources to provide the training these talented people need to become great managers.
Ad U's Graduate Program provides that training. We provide talented mid-level professionals across all departments with the knowledge and tools they need to recruit and develop additional talented people for their companies.
We provide this training in an environment that is based on practical knowledge and taught by professionals who hold senior management positions at various companies throughout the industry.
Potential Students
This course is appropriate for anyone new to a management role or employees with at least 2 year's experience seeking to move up to a management role. The skills learned in this course are applicable to employees of any company.
Note: You do not need to have attended Ad U prior to enrollment in Ad U Grad.

Management 101
This class includes an overview of the basic concepts of management. Topics include motivation, managing across departments and techniques to reward people without using money.
The Big Picture
Understanding big picture aspects of the company and how an agency looks at itself as a whole from a financial perspective. How company-wide objectives impact individual departments will also be discussed.

Interviewing Skills
How to translate the definition of a perfect candidate into an interviewing approach that will yield the information necessary for evaluating a candidate against that definition. Specific interview techniques will be discussed.
Giving Feedback/Performance Evaluations
Candid, frequent dialog is critical to to ensuring common understanding of expectations, performance and development. How to deal with problem employees will also be discussed.
Managing Up
Includes techniques for a manager to get the most out of their boss. How to get the counsel and guidance you need while creating the autonomy you desire.
Client Expectations
What do clients really want? Find out in this candid discussion from actual clients. In the end, agencies and clients are responsible for one another and 2-way communication is key.

How to Work in a Collaborative World
Over the years, a client's account has become fragmented. For one reason or another, one agency may handle creative, while another handles media planning and still another handles media buying. Find out how to work best with your "sister" agencies to produce outstanding results for the client.
